Channeling my favorite girl (Zooey Deschanel) in one of my favorite shows (New Girl), I decided to do a quick makeup look inspired by Jess Day. One thing I notice about Jess’s makeup is that unless she is going somewhere fancy and is wearing a red lip, her day-to-day beauty is rather simple. She usually has a good amount of mascara and maybe a little color on the lips. She also has a very natural blush on most of the time.
And here is the inspiration for this makeup look, wearing her classic glasses and her hair up in a bun.
It’s safe to say that if you have a similar pair of glasses, it starts looking a lot more similar.
The secret here was just to go very light and natural with the colors, but pick colors that have a nice pink color to them.

On a side note, this is my last week at school. I feel like I’m avoiding that fact by putting together blog posts and photography so that I won’t have to face it. But soon I’ll be leaving Boston and heading back to my quiet home. I’m enjoying my last few school days left. I’ve wanted to graduate for a long time, and now that it’s here, I almost wish I was signing up for more classes. But then again, good things tend to come from transitions (or interesting things, at least).
“Being tender and open is beautiful. As a
woman, I feel continually shh’d. Too
sensitive. Too mushy. Too wishy washy.
Blah blah. Don’t let anyone steal your
tenderness. Don’t allow the coldness and
fear of others to tarnish your perfectly
vulnerable beating heart. Nothing
is more powerful than allowing yourself to
be truly affected by things. Whether it’s a
song, a stranger, a mountain, a rain
drop, a tea kettle, an article, a sentence,
a footstep, feel it all-look around you.
All of this is for you. Take it and have
gratitude. Give it an feel love.”
