White Rabbit Halloween Costume // Alice in Wonderland

This year for Halloween I decided to go with a classic, that is, a character from Alice in Wonderland. I wanted to do more of my take on in rather than a recreation of the character.

Most of my costume was found right in my closet. I think Halloween costumes look best when you’ve used vintage pieces and things that you already owned.

I was preparing for this for a few days and was planning on taking the photos for it today. As I drove home to take the pictures, flurries were surrounding me everywhere. By the time I was dressed it was full on snowing!

It was more like Alice in Wonderland meets a winter wonderland. But it was amazing! What a strange month we’re having.

There is currently so much snow outside that some of our trees are bending from the weight of it on their leaves!

My makeup was pretty simple and fun to do. I used a nice champagne eyeshadow all over the lid and then did a thick winged liner. I used a pop of red lipstick for that playful Alice look. I also dotted some extra freckles on my face using a MAC 266 brush and whatever matte brown eyeshadow would do from my Lorac Pro Palette.

And here is the little white rabbit from the book. I think it’s fun to do Halloween costumes that come from literature. If there was more time before Halloween I would try to do some more! I had plans for a Halloween party that ended up falling through, so I’m happy I got to dress up for a day, even if it was snowing. It was worth it for the pictures!

What are you dressing up for this Halloween? Let me know some other fun book characters that you’ve seen as costumes. I always think Daisy Buchanan is so fun.

“I wonder if the snow loves the trees and fields, that it kisses them so gently? And then it covers them up snug, you know, with a white quilt; and perhaps it says, “Go to sleep, darlings, till the summer comes again.”

― Lewis Carroll, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland & Through the Looking-Glass
