I bought this shirt at Anthropologie with my birthday discount, and I absolutely love it. It was in the sale section, which tells you that you can get amazing things on sale! The color and material is casual and easy.
I’ve been trying to buy more clothes in this style since they go with many types of outfits.
This clean white linen look reminds me of Scandinavia, which is one of my obsessions.
Let me know if you’ve snagged any great deals in the sale section lately. 🙂
Talk to you soon,
In December, I got a postcard for a store called Terrain that was inviting me to see their “Winter Marketplace.” I read the back of the card, learning that it was a store owned by Anthropologie that was located in Westport, Connecticut. I looked into it more, and apparently this is only their second location. Since it was about an hour and a half drive from me, it didn’t make sense to drive all the way down there when I didn’t have much time. But knowing I had lots of free time during my spring break, we cleared one day in the week to visit the store. We made a day of it, seeing other stores in the area, but this was the highlight of the day.
The first thing I want to say is, it’s almost like Anthropologie and a garden center were mashed together, except there is no clothing involved. Terrain is more of a lifestyle store, because while there are plants everywhere you look, there are also books and beauty products in sections around the area.
The building is huge, and it’s really hard to capture since there is so much going on. This was in the space across from the cash registers. There were flowers hanging and decor stacked around everywhere you looked. It was breathtaking, and I needed a lot of time to go through each and every set up.
This branch was illuminated by LED lights and was hung from the ceiling. The is the first thing you see as you walk into the building. The space was an old showing room for a car dealership, and the huge inside is completely filled with wonderful things. Everywhere I looked, I was in awe.
Outside the store, there is a artfully cluttered area where patio and containers for the garden are sold. A lot of the items look like they are recycled or maybe props that had been used in-store at one time. The pieces of wood and galvanized materials were amazing to look through.
Have you heard of this store before? If you’re in the area, I highly suggest visiting. We ate at the café and the food was as enchanting as the decor!

Yesterday was a pretty wet and soggy day. But the weather was beautiful, and for the first time in awhile, it felt like spring showers. I love wearing this coat with my rain boots for when the puddles start appearing outside.
Here were some of the other details of my outfit. I’ve been adoring my handmade wallet that I got for Christmas, as well as some other beauty bits.
And here’s a bit of inspiration for your almost-spring days! I feel as though lately I’ve been going through a lot of changes, and there’s no better time for change than in the spring. The air is different and magnificent and there are journeys around every corner. I easily made this little edit with downloadable watercolor vectors (thanks Pinterest!). Hopefully it will inspire you to do something spontaneous when the weather gets warm. I think there is also a lot of adventure hidden in mundane rainy days.
Peasant Shirt: H&M

Sephora Powder Brush
Wallet: I need to find the Esty shop where I got this, and as soon as I do I’ll come back and edit it.
How are you all spending your days now that the weather is warming up?
To start off, this blog is to document the inspiration from the natural world and how it relates to fashion and beauty. I’ll show parallels between the beauty of the details in life and the interesting things happening in the fashion industry. Mostly, this is a space to let creativity grow, and to share with you what I’m doing in the process.
I took these pictures after we had our first snow storm of the year, and the next day was so warm that fog crept in and the snow started disappearing. I went out to get pictures of it before it was gone and found a beauty in the marsh-like environment that is not usually seen near me. It reminded me a lot of the Anthropologie Winter collection from 2013. Although the holidays are over, it’s still winter and there’s still beautiful images here that really connected with me!

What I love about these images is there is a romance to them, a dark and slightly gothic vibe that is intriguing and beautiful. The snow on the ground and on the sides of the house are harsh, but that contrast of the scarves piled up makes us feel like we need to be cuddling them by a fire.
I know spring is coming, and I’ll have some spring related/inspired posts soon. But for now, let’s appreciate the beautiful of the final weeks of winter.
