Inspired by my favorite adventurers/naturalists: John Muir, Henry David Thoreau, Beatrix Potter, Alexander Von Humbolt, etc. I wish I could dress like this all the time and travel around the world to see the most beautiful national parks.

Here is one of my favorite exploring quotes by my favorite travel writer, Bill Bryson:

“I can’t think of anything that excites a greater

sense of childlike wonder than to be in a country

where you are ignorant of almost everything.

Suddenly you are five years old again. You can’t

read anything. You have only the most rudimentary

sense of how things work. You can’t even reliably

cross the street without endangering your life. Your

whole existence becomes a series of interesting

Ravenclaw Inspired Lookbook ✨💕🦉

I put together a little lookbook of my most Ravenclaw-ish outfits!

Does anyone else wish they were looking out Ravenclaw tower? That’s what I was thinking about in this photo. Also, maybe cake.

Taking a break from studying potions to snuggle my pup. This notebook was the one I bought for my birthday, and it screams Ravenclaw. I thought so as soon as I saw it. It has little planets and things, which is featured in their common room!

I’m convinced that if I were at Hogwarts, I would be a Ravenclaw who also loved plants. I would study botany and herbology, most likely. I’ve already collected books upon books about plants. I might do a post on my collection!

Spring(ish) Lookbook 2017

Hello Everyone,

I have been buying loads of clothing, left and right. The most logical thing to do was a little lookbook for spring!

Spring in Massachusetts seems to be as unpredictable as another other season. A few days ago, it was forty degrees, and just two days ago, it was in the 80’s. I find myself slipping in and out of layers. I open my windows before walking my dog to get a feel of what kind of shoes I should be wearing. And yet, none of my guesses are correct. I’m freezing or I’m shedding my sweaters.

But some of these new pieces I picked up truly made it feel like the warm weather will stay.

There’s also a lot of beautiful detailed pieces everywhere I look. I bought the lace kimono from Target as soon as I saw it. It seems like the kind of thing to turn any outfit into something whimsical.

The different areas of the lace are breathtaking. Layering sheer things helps with a cool breeze, and it gives so much dimension to different looks. I’ve also been trying to style hats differently too. Hats are such an in-between accessory, aren’t they?

All of the colors I bought were quite muted, but that’s what I’ve been enjoying lately. The neutrality of them makes them easy to pair with things.

What Am I Inspired By?

To start off, this blog is to document the inspiration from the natural world and how it relates to fashion and beauty. I’ll show parallels between the beauty of the details in life and the interesting things happening in the fashion industry. Mostly, this is a space to let creativity grow, and to share with you what I’m doing in the process.

I took these pictures after we had our first snow storm of the year, and the next day was so warm that fog crept in and the snow started disappearing. I went out to get pictures of it before it was gone and found a beauty in the marsh-like environment that is not usually seen near me. It reminded me a lot of the Anthropologie Winter collection from 2013. Although the holidays are over, it’s still winter and there’s still beautiful images here that really connected with me!

(all images from Anthropologies 2013 Holiday Lookbook)

What I love about these images is there is a romance to them, a dark and slightly gothic vibe that is intriguing and beautiful. The snow on the ground and on the sides of the house are harsh, but that contrast of the scarves piled up makes us feel like we need to be cuddling them by a fire.

I know spring is coming, and I’ll have some spring related/inspired posts soon. But for now, let’s appreciate the beautiful of the final weeks of winter.
